the fiasco that was caribana and racist girl???:

So I get to Caribana at 2pm about. And it rains. It rains hard! I was so pissed. So I waited for an half a hour, under some cover, for the rain to stop or slow down to a light driseling. With only a light driseling of rain I decide it was time to enjoy the parade while taking pictures by stacking out a good shooting position. I grumbled on the way that I should have left earlier as was the case last year. So I finally find a spot and as I am seeking this golden spot the rain is starting to increase in intensity. Now I've been standing in the golden spot for a few minutes and the sky seems like it's opening up and just dumping sheets of water on us. My water resistant jacket couldn't stand up to that much water! So I fled my spot after about 10 minutes of this shit, in search of cover. Before I find cover the rain dies down to a light driseling again. And I find another prime shooting position and the sky opens up again. And I probably stay here about 10 or more minutes and I flee in search of shelter again. I do this probably 2 more times and convince myself that I have to take care of my camera which isn't waterproof and leave with a scowle on my face. It better not rain when I march in the parade next year! Hopefully my camera is fine, I was a little worried but after it drys I'll know what up=) At least I can still smile proof that life could suck more and the sky is not falling yet. Ahhhh! it still bothers me but what can I do. My friend, lets call him Regis, is taking me bowling tonight so at least the days not a total write off.
Oh by the way I was talking on icq to a lady and I use this term loosely and everything is cool. I brought up this week and asked her if she went to Sars-stock. She said that she didn't like that that type of event. I mentioned that my vast preference was Caribana over Sars-Stock and she did the equivilent to hanging up on me, disconnecting and not sending another message later to say sorry or bye or whatever. I was quite disturbed by this. It's rude first of all. Do you want other people to do this to you! net ettiquette people! She was a local promoter for clubs events so it was maybe perhaps because I mentioned that I didn't know about such things. Perhaps because she was bored of the conversation and/or had something better to do. Perhaps she had a strong dislike for Caribean culture. I don't know but if I don't hear from her again I'm going to think she racist. I never had a user disconnect a conversation prematurely and not say why... It's tres bazzare.
